88% of SEN disagreements resolved at mediation during 10th year of operation

This report comes after over ten years of operation of the SEN mediation service which has assisted in hundreds of cases. Case referrals include many cases where the mediation service has had some input, although Local Authorities now place greater emphasis on achieving internal resolution, so a good proportion of these cases are happily resolved without the need for mediation. Of the cases that proceed to formal mediation, it is good to note that 88% were fully or partially resolved at mediation. If all resolutions are included both prior to and post mediation the resolution rate is an impressive 92%.
